Changes We Have to Live With
It has now been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak started and we are all still struggling with the new way of things. Some of you may have had to start working from home, others may be on leave, and some have even lost their jobs and are looking for another. In most places, kids are doing their schooling online from home. Everyone is cooped up and tired of it.
To date, there have been a total of 118 million cases worldwide, with 66.7 million recovered and 2.61 million deaths. There is no cure. But things are looking up. There are now three COVID-19 vaccines to help prevent the spread of this deadly disease. It is going to take a while to get everyone though, with seven billion people in the world.
This pandemic has really got everyone's lives turned upside down. I am not a political person, but I think we need some better leadership if we are going to get back from this financial upheaval. So many people were forced to leave their jobs and have no income whatsoever. Sure, they will get unemployment, when it finally comes. It has been over three months and some people are still waiting. I cannot imagine how that feels. Through no fault of their own, they have zero income and for those without a substantial savings it can be a disaster. No money to pay the bills or buy food and no way to do anything about it. Before if you lost your job, you could go look for another one. Not anymore. Everything is closed and many of the companies have gone out of business.
Did you forget who I am yet? Actually, it has only been a few months since my last blog, which is a big improvement from the past. Right? So, what shall I talk about today? How about being thankful since it is almost Thanksgiving. There are so many people who are constantly complaining about the rising costs of things, not making enough money, working too much, etc. Well, why don’t we all just step back and look at things from a different point of view?
So, where have I been? That is a good question. To be honest with you, I have been extremely busy with my writing and schoolwork. I have more freelance writing jobs than I can handle and juggling them with a doctorate program is tough, but I love it! However, my blog and website have suffered and if you are one of my three (Haha) followers, I bet you have been wondering where I went.
If you want to see some of my work that has been published, there are many websites I have worked on as a ghostwriter such as WagWalking.com, FluentWoof.com, BetterHelp.com, Outdoorsy.com, and DavesGarden.com. Most of what I have been writing are articles for psychology, which is what I am getting my PhD in so I specialize in that. But I am also pretty good at writing articles about everything from dog walking to hiking to gardening. And today, I am going to spend most of my day improving my long-neglected website. I am open to suggestions. Let me know what you want to see on my website!
I am so ashamed of myself. Why even have a website if you are not even going to keep up with it? In fact, why have I been paying for this website when I have not even been on here in almost two years?!?! I have a bunch of reasons, mostly school and work related. But, I have also spent quite a bit of time on my health. I flew to Pennsylvania 11 months ago to get gastric bypass surgery and have been spending more time moving around instead of sitting down. It is kind of hard to write on this blog when you are moving around. I need to get one of those standing desks so I am not sitting all the time.
Yes, I AM Still Here!
This is going to be a short blog. I was sharing my website link and looked here and realized I had not written anything in nine months! It has been a busy and exciting year for me, working for myself makes it difficult to plan my hours the way I would if I was working for someone else, but it is good because of school. After getting straight A’s during my MBA program, I realized that PhD programs are a whole other ballgame! But, I love it! It is just time-consuming and sometimes a bit stressful when the workload is heavy at the same time I have a big account to take care of. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines……
Speaking of deadlines, I have a lot of work to get back to. I just wanted to stop in and let my readers know that I am still alive and that I did not forget about you. Of course, if you need me for anything, you can always send me an email here or a message on one of my social media pages. Just some of my thoughts..............

Will You Be My Valentine?
Valentine's Day is just days away, have already gotten your sweetheart a gift yet? Many people wait until the last minute and run to Walmart to pick through what they have left. Broken chocolate hearts, dirty stuffed animals already played with by half the city's kids, and the ugliest flowers you have ever seen. Wait! What about taking her/him out to dinner or a show? That is nice, but maybe this year you could do something different. I did some research and found the top ten "original" ideas for Valentine's Day gifts:
Are You Ready for 2016?
How was your year? It seems that there was a lot of tragic events this year. Let me just give you some facts. Scary as they may be, they are true. I did the research. Here are some of the things that happened in 2015:

What is Christmas in 2015?
We know that Christmas marketing started months ago, and you have been bombarded by ads for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Gifts you didn’t even know you wanted are popping up on your phone or Facebook page and enticing you to “click here” for the best deals. Just the other day I was trying to work (online of course) and I kept getting pop-ups for sales on boots because I recently bought a pair. I do not block the pop-ups because it sometimes stops important things from coming through. So I keep ignoring the ads, but they keep coming. And then I see these amazing boots for only $6.99! I figure it’s a gimmick just to get me to click on it, but I do it anyway just to see what the catch is. Funny thing is, there is no gimmick. They really are $6.99! Of course I bought a pair. Now I have two pairs of boots, and they are both awesome. Sometimes pop-ups are good.
