Valentine's Day is just days away, have already gotten your sweetheart a gift yet? Many people wait until the last minute and run to Walmart to pick through what they have left. Broken chocolate hearts, dirty stuffed animals already played with by half the city's kids, and the ugliest flowers you have ever seen. Wait! What about taking her/him out to dinner or a show? That is nice, but maybe this year you could do something different. I did some research and found the top ten "original" ideas for Valentine's Day gifts: Personalized Fortune CookieDo you like Chinese food? Well, even if you don't, this is still a great idea! For less than $15 you can get a gold or silver fortune cookie box and personalize it with your own note. Adorable for a man or a woman. 9. Personalized Rice JewelryYes, those are pieces of rice! Get a necklace, bracelet, keychain, etc. You can have any names or words printed on them and choose what type of jewelry and color of cord, writing, and beads. This one is less than $10! Great idea for your honey! 8. Personalized "Where We Met" PuzzleDo you remember where you met your sweetheart? Well, tell it to this company and they will make a puzzle out of it! Amazing details and uniquely shaped puzzle pieces like hearts and special phrases. Less than $40 for this amazing gift! 7. Personalized "Where We Met" Latitude/Longitude Leather BraceletIf your loved one does not like puzzles, how about putting it on a genuine leather bracelet? For less than $50 MavenMetals will engrave the GPS coordinates of where you two met on this beautiful band. 6. Personalized CokeFor only $10 you can get your lover's name printed on a Coke bottle. Or you can just get a sweet message, such as "I love you" or "Your Valentine." Or get them a whole 6-pack with six individual phrases: I Love You, Be Mine, Your Valentine, Sweetheart, Forever Yours, and Love. 5. Name a Roach After Her/HimThis gift may not be right for some people, but I think it is really great. And it only costs $10! Be honest, who wouldn't like a roach named after them? And it is not just ANY roach; it is a Hissing Cockroach at the Bronx Zoo and you get a certificate! Awesome! 4. Donate To His/Her Favorite Charity
This may not be the best choice for everyone, but I think it should be. Everyone needs to know what it feels like to give your time to someone else. Take your honey to your local animal shelter and help take care of some homeless pets. Go serve food at a United Way or Veterans Center. Visit the elderly at a nursing home. Donating money and items is good, but actually spending time with those in need can really give you a sense of really helping someone. It feels good. Whatever you choose to do, make it special and meaningful for both of you. A box of candy and flowers are nice, but you can change someone's life if you do something that really makes a difference. Just some of my thoughts. Have a Happy Valentine's Day! PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS BELOW:
